How the EXPlasma Z7 Process Works

Prepare the Load
Thoroughly clean, rinse, inspect, and completely dry compatible instruments before packaging.

Package & Load
Place instruments in compatible Tyvek pouches and arrange the load according to the EXPlasma Z7 instructions for use.

Select the Cycle
Use Flash for compatible surface loads. Use Standard for manufacturer-listed tubular and lumen configurations.

Complete the Cycle
Start the selected cycle. Remove the load only after the Z7 indicates successful cycle completion.
Cycle Options
Flash or Standard: Choose the Appropriate Cycle
The EXPlasma Z7 provides two programmed cycles for different compatible loads. Select the cycle according to the instrument type, the Z7 instructions for use, and the instrument manufacturer’s validated reprocessing guidance.
Flash Cycle
Approximately 10 minutes. Intended for compatible instruments requiring surface sterilization. Do not use Flash mode for tubular or lumen devices.
Standard Cycle
Approximately 20 minutes. Used for compatible instruments and all manufacturer-listed tubular and lumen configurations.
Important Lumen Guidance
Use Standard mode only. Thoroughly clean and completely dry each lumen device, seal it individually in a compatible Tyvek pouch, and process no more than four lumens per load.
Instrument Compatibility
Process Only Compatible Veterinary Instruments
The EXPlasma Z7 processes compatible metal and nonmetal instruments at low temperature. It may be appropriate for heat- and moisture-sensitive devices when hydrogen peroxide processing is permitted by the instrument manufacturer.
Compatibility depends on the instrument’s materials, construction, coatings, adhesives, internal geometry, and packaging. Always follow the current EXPlasma Z7 VET user manual and the instrument manufacturer’s reprocessing instructions. Do not assume compatibility based only on a material name.
